Just a quick note, rumors are reporting that the Oakland Raiders are working on acquiring DeAngelo Hall from the Falcons who are looking to stock pile draft picks while cutting back on the payroll.

Great players that don’t play!

By Derrick | November 11, 2007

This has been the most frustrating season of my fantasy football “career.”  Never did I have an injury really hurt my team in my primary league as it has this year.  For my first round pick in this league(after the 1 player we were allowed to keep). I took Marvin Harrison since I decided to keep Tom Brady.  Harrison has played very little this season due to a knee injury and I do not expect to have him back anytime soon.

What can you do? Well immediately I went to the waiver wire to see if there was someone I could pickup, obviously nobody could take a “normal” healthy Marvin Harrison’s place.  I was able to pickup a few low tier guys that get consistent points, which is about the best you can hope for when a key player gets hurt.

Just checking NFL.com they have this:

“Colts receiver Marvin Harrison’s bruised left knee will keep him out of the team’s game in San Diego on Sunday night. “

How much longer is a bruise going to keep you out Marvin?

Who to keep…that is the question

By admin | November 1, 2007

At the start of this season I was faced with a dilemma. Who should I keep for my fantasy football team. Rudi Johnson or Tom Brady. Rudi was a pillar of strength for my team. He was so consistent that is was crazy. You could nearly bank on his numbers year after year.

Tom Brady on the other had could make something out of nothing. I mean take an honest look at who he was throwing to over the past few years.

At the start of this season I couldn’t help but be excited by seeing all the weapons who Brady now had. When my time was up to say who I was going to keep I slowly typed the name into an email to the league commish. When I clicked that send button I was instantly having regrets. I decided to keep Tom Brady and have not looked back since.

The main lesson here was I went with my gut feeling on who to keep. I also proved that when given too much time to think you will instantly start doubting your decisions.

I hope we all can learn a lesson from this blog post.

What A Wild Game

By Derrick | September 16, 2007

Short post here today since I am enjoying watching the NE vs SD game right now.  What a crazy day in the NFL can you believe the Browns put up 51 points and that the Saints are 0 - 2.  This should make for a very interesting week as we look over the games and stats.

What a scare! Joseph Addai Shaken Up

By admin | September 6, 2007

On the first offensive play of the game the Colts Joseph Addai was shaken up trying to catch a pass from Peyton Manning. Addai was hit solidly by the Saints Mike Mckenzie and a linebacker. After the hit Addai was laying on the ground as medical staff came out onto the field. The next offensive series Addai was back on the field.

Fantasy Football Lesson: Have a solid backup to your key players. Did you see the fear in the Colts when Addai was down. They have no solid backup to Addai who is relatively unproven in terms of remaining injury free.
